As with NAB, there are hundreds of maps you can add to Unreal Tournament for use in "practice sessions" or online. There are also extra "models", plus "skins" for models old and new, "voicepacks", and other good stuff if you look around. Maps are added the same way as in NAB, though the file path is a little simpler; instead of c:\program files\atari\nerf\maps you just need to find the way to (or type in, or whatever) c:\UnrealTournament\maps - as in NAB, you may find texture (.utx), or other files when you unzip your download, but the ReadMe should tell you where they need to go! Sometimes the file you unzip may be a "umod" - it looks like a map, as it is the usual "U" icon, but putting it in your maps file won't add that map to the drop-down list of maps you can play. If you are not sure, just highlight the icon in your folder, and see how it is described. A "umod" just needs to be double- clicked, then when it asks to self-install, approve the choice of English and make sure the path it wants to take is c:\UnrealTournament and it will do the rest itself! |
